coach-mike-walker Coach Mike WalkerMike began playing badminton in Alhambra, California thanks to Ned Vallerand, who put a racket in every kid’s hand at Almansor gym. Three weeks after his first badminton experience, Mike won the Pasadena Badminton Club 11 & under tournament. He was coached by American badminton legends Joe and Lois Alston. In the past 40 years, Mike has been Manhattan Beach B.C. Junior Coach, San Diego Badminton Club Juniors Coach, USAB Region 5 Director, UCSD Coach, and US Thomas/Uber Cup Coach. Mike holds 4 Junior, 15 Adult, and 30+ Senior National Championships. In 1994 he was inducted into USA Badminton’s Hall of Fame. Mike is available for badminton lessons on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays.
coach-sunny-kim Coach Sunny KimSunny was a singles player on the US National Badminton Team from 1991 to 1996. She was a member of the Nassau County high school and US Collegiate National Women’s Badminton Championship Teams in 1985 and 1988 respectively. At age 19, she trained at Djarum Kudus in Indonesia. She has coached at Miller Place Badminton Camps, Target Atlanta Chicago’s junior program, Manhattan Beach Badminton Club, and San Diego Badminton Club. In the 90s she was an assistant junior coach at Philadelphia-area private squash clubs. Her S.D. Mesa teams (44-5) won two CA State College titles and she was the 2001 COA Badminton Coach of the Year. Sunny teaches students 16+ at the badminton club in Mira Mesa Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

Private Badminton Lesson (1-2 students)

Members Drop-In
$45 to $60/sixty minutes $45 to $60/sixty minutes + $11/person club access fee

Private Badminton Lessons must be booked in advance with AIR Club Coaches.
Drop-in badminton students must pay in advance. No refunds for no-shows.

 

Instructor Members and Coaches are available on a limited basis for private lessons with AIR Club members.
